Reservation Platform
Studio Book
A simple reservation platform for boutique studios and class-based businesses, designed around one idea: booking a class should not be complicated.
The Problem
Class reservations should be simple, but the original experience required customers to move between different systems and communication channels just to reserve a class and choose a bike.
The Idea
Remove everything that does not need to be there.
- Find a class
- Choose a spot
- Reserve
- Done.
No unnecessary account creation. No complicated onboarding. No hunting through multiple platforms.
Built in the Real World
Studio Book was developed and tested around the actual operations of a boutique fitness studio in Aruba.
It supports scheduling, instructors, numbered resources such as spinning bikes, capacity-based activities, cancellations, waitlists, attendance, credits and English/Spanish experiences.
The architecture is intentionally generic so the same underlying system can support different class-based activities, such as spinning, yoga, Pilates, dance or workshops, without rebuilding the product around one type of class.
Tested Beyond Its Current Size
Studio Book has also undergone large-scale simulation and stress testing far beyond its present operating requirements, including hundreds of simulated customers, significantly increased class volumes and simultaneous booking activity.
Philosophy
Build the architecture generically. Build the customer experience specifically.
